We have for acknowledgement your favour

of the 30th enclosing for our perusal the letter from the Nippon Yusen Kaisha, which we herewith return.

For your guidance we enclose copy in dupli- cate of our invoice which was duly posted to Messrs.

Siemssen before the outbreak of hostilities. When

however you declined to furnish us with the Bs/1 we

treated the transaction as closed, and wrote off the

amount in our books as a bad debt.

When preferential claims, including the

accumulated charges for warehousing etc., have been

disposed of we are not sanguine enough to expect that

much, if anything, will fall to our share, and we are

not disposed to trouble any further in the matter.

Yours truly,

For CANNON IRON FOUNDRIES LTD.

(Sgd.) W. HAWKINS.
